Aircraft hydraulic system accumulator

This cool looking item was originally part of the hydraulic system of an aircraft. Accumulators can be found in many aircraft types, and normally several are installed. The accumulator acts as a sort of storage reservoir for hydraulic fluid that enables the hydraulic system to cope with extremes of demand. This spherical-type accumulator probably dates back to the 1950s/1960s and shows its age.
